ISLE OF MAN – On 31 August 2019, the Microgaming PlayItForward Soapbox Race returned to Douglas, Isle of Man, for the fifth year to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.
Supported once again by PlayItForward, Microgaming’s staff-led corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, this year’s adrenaline-fueled event raised £2,600 in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity, the UK's leading provider of rehabilitation and support services for the fire and rescue community.
The fun, family-friendly race saw enthusiastic crowds gather on the streets of the capital to witness the skill and bravery of some of the island’s most intrepid soapbox racers. A field of over 30 fearless drivers took to the slopes in a range of creative karts, racing down Upper Church Street in spectacular fashion, and navigating bone-shattering jumps, inclines and corners.
Last of the summer whine took first place as it sped through the course with great momentum. Leeroy's Banger came a close second, followed by Black Bush 1 in third and Broken back in the future! in fourth.
